The Effect of Using Project-Based Learning Assisted by Wordwall Media on Students’ Reading Comprehension

Abstract


Reading comprehension is a crucial skill in learning English. Having reading comprehension skills gives students the abillity to understand, process, and explore information in a reading text. However, reading comprehension is a skill that is not easy to learn, especially in English. Therefore, it needs the right learning strategy and media to overcome the difficulties. The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of using the PjBL assisted by Wordwall media on students' reading comprehension in elementary school MIS Al Hayatul Islamiyah Malang. This study used a sample divided into two groups, namely the experimental class that received treatment with PjBL strategy assisted by Wordwall media and the control class that did not receive special treatment. The instrument used in this research is a test that is divided into pre-test and post-test with multiple-choice types. The data obtained has been analyzed using descriptive statistics and an independent sample t-test. The results of this study showed that PjBL assisted by Wordwall significantly had a positive effect on students' reading comprehension skills.
