Abstract

Multicultural education and religiosity are two vital pillars in fostering inclusive and tolerant student character amid ethnic and cultural diversity. This study aims to analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of multicultural education and religiosity on students' religious moderation at MA Bustanul Ulum Banyuputih Kidul Jatiroto Lumajang. An associative quantitative research design was employed, with a sample of 65 female tenth-grade students selected via purposive cluster sampling. Data were collected using closed 4-point Likert scale questionnaires and analyzed with IBM SPSS 25.0. The partial t-test results revealed that Multicultural Education significantly and positively affects Religious Moderation (t = 3.358; p = 0.001 < 0.05). Similarly, Religiosity exerts a significant positive effect on Religious Moderation (t = 3.164; p = 0.002 < 0.05). The multiple linear regression equation was formulated as Y = 6.862 + 0.503X1 + 0.441X2. Simultaneously, Multicultural Education and Religiosity together significantly influence student Religious Moderation. These findings demonstrate that integrating multicultural values alongside deep religious adherence effectively fortifies students against radicalism and intolerance within Islamic educational institutions.
